Close to the Takhini River Valley.

After a walk from half hour by - 35°C ... there is no make up necessary anymore!

Snowshoeing at Golden Horn

Together with my friend Thor we tried to get as close as possible to the Summit of Golden Horn ..... temperature at -25°C.

View in the valley from the Yukon River ... it is still not frozen and there is always a thick fogg.

And really ... I saw the first time some caribous .... unfortunately far away but it was still exciting.

Yes, and it was cold. Thor had problems on the way up to keep his toes warm.

And here it is .... the Golden Horn. We didn't reach the summit. We were too late and sometimes the snow was really deep ... once Bella disappeared totally, just caught in a snow ditch.

On our way down at around 2.30 pm already sunset with a big "Alpengluehen" ... beautiful. But it got really cold and we went faster and faster to get home.

Birthday again

Time is running by and it is already my second birthday in the Yukon. But this year I didn't feel like having a little sit in at my place .... but at work we had a little something .... mmmmm, yummy!!!

Look at that ... what a fancy ....

... super chocolate cake!!!!

Alpaca Farm

A visit on a local Alpaca Farm.

Nice animals ....

with very beautiful big eyes.

And this turkey ... I don't know, but I find this "thing" on his head/neck pretty ugly!

Yes, I got spayed .... but doing ok!

Anniversary

Yes, it is already a year ago that I came to Whitehorse and started working for Zola. So the ladies let me be QUEEN for a day with a great pink dress!

Here is the Queen on a bike ride ....

.... and in the beans.

Katya and me proper dressed in Midnight Sun Roastery t-shirts.

The little farm

Don't worry ... I didn't get new dogs ... they are from Willi, a swiss friend from my landlord and I will babysit them until middle of December.

Max - a seven years old guy and main barker in the pack. I guess that I am his new love! For sure because I am the one who is bringing the food!

Lady - and she is with her 16 years really a lady. We both will have together birthday in December on the same day!

That's Mika - the little accident from Max and Lady 1.5 years ago! - a crazy little teenager.

This pack is together outside in a kennel. It is like on a little farm now .... and Martin, my landlord will leave for 3 weeks .... that means 4 dogs and 1 cat.

My cabin ... an update.

Here some new pictures from my cabin ... I did some work in it and had to clean it up after my mass ... will say, it was a good opertunity!

That is the "entrance" room.

The view into the "entrance" room from my living area ...

... here my kitchen. I still hope to find a little propane stove but they are hard to get used and new they are pretty expensive here! Until then I will stick with my camping cooker.

Dining "room".

This side of the cabin has a little bit higher ground than the other side ... here my living "room" ...

... and my queen size bed!

Kusawa Lake

My last free day ... knee pain and grey weather ... so, I had just a short visit at Kusawa Lake.

It is very beautiful there with a real beach ... just too cold to enjoy the water or to have a sun bath.

This could be my future house ...

Takhini River.

And I am on my "favourite" gravel roads ... but I didn't get a flat tire!

Samuel Glacier - Haines Road

On the second day we drove down the Haines Road to hike into the area from Samuel Glacier ... easy and very nice trail ... unfortunately my knee started to hurt ... so a long walk for me - but it was absolutely worth!

Oh, again in this car ... where are we going now??

Wonderful mountains with great changing colours.

First time crossing that little creek ... I was moaning because the water was soooooo cold.

One part of the big glacier ...

... and another part.

Looking for wildlife ... without success.

And some little play fights in the break.

Enjoying the landscape.

And two who are happy to be together again and hiking like new born ( Spot ).

Same way back ... through the little creek.

Stefanie on her way ... good to see that even she has to be concentrated.

Sheep Moutain - Haines Junction

I was very lucky .... got three days off and I could go together with my friend Stefanie, who is a professional wilderness guide and her two clients for some day trips in the area of Haines Junction ... first day: Sheep Mountain - Sheep Boullion Plateau ... very nice like you will see with those pictures.

Little introduction for the trail.

Passing a little creek.

First view in the valley .... breath taking!

Bella and me on the trail.

Little break for all of us.

And dogs are begging for treats ... especially Spot!

Getting slowly higher ...

... with a wonderful view.

And the first snow patches ...

... and somebody was very happy to see this wet, white stuff again!

On the way back to Haines Junction ... tourists ( Stefanie and her two clients ) ...

... wonderful view over Kluane Lake.

Tired Spot ... but he did great after he was ill for some weeks.

And even little Bella was exhausted - but like princesses are, she needed a more comfortable spot!

At Pine Lake Campground Stefanie cooked great spaghetti for us.

And we all were really hungry!

And here to two dog mama's.
